 Schedule of Events:

  • From June 24–June 30 SeriesFest will host a robust slate of virtual programming, including signature panels, workshops, marketplace meetings, network premieres, and an Independent Content Awards Ceremony.
  • Official Season 7 Selections (Independent Pilot, Digital Short Series, Pitch-A-Thon, Storytellers Initiative, Collegiate Creator, Late Night, Pilots in Progress, Smartphone, and Podcast) will screen virtually throughout all 18 days of the festival (June 24-July 11).

Exclusive virtual content and new competitions will be highlighted as part of the online program, available on SeriesFest’s virtual platform for the entire 18 days. These new initiatives include: Next In Queue: A Spotlight on Podcasts, which focuses on original serialized audio stories that highlight bold and innovative new voices; Pilots In Progress — in partnership with Seed&Spark, where creators can virtually and securely screen rough cuts of their content for feedback from fellow creators, with an opportunity to be featured on a curated page on Seed&Spark designed to support and promote crowdfunding goals associated with the completion of the project; and The Smartphone Series and Short Film Competition, which is an opportunity for creators using their smartphones to create innovative episodic and short-form content.

In addition to the traditional and new offerings, SeriesFest is proud to announce a partnership with Level Forward and the creation of the Level Forward Impact Award. The Level Forward Impact Award will be given to the episodic pilot and team who demonstrate, on top of their commitment to creative excellence, a thoughtful, thorough, and deliberate approach to using storytelling as a means of leveling the playing field for underrepresented people including women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA and alternatively abled voices. The Award includes one year of development in partnership with Level Forward. In keeping with Level Forward’s mission to advance the access, opportunity, and influence of storytelling, the program identifies compelling and entertaining pilots that have incorporated this ethos into the fabric of their process and project.

“SeriesFest and Level Forward are aligned in rewarding more thoughtful, thorough, and deliberate approaches to storytelling,” said Level Forward CEO and Co-Founder, Adrienne Becker. “We know first-hand how difficult it can be to take the extra time and spend the extra dollar to tell stories through a leveling lens. To those who do, this award acknowledges and honors your example, and commits to continue exploring ways of systematizing and incentivizing the equity of opportunity. The Level Forward Impact Award will be another step in that direction.”
